rosette necklace

i shared this tutorial on along for the ride yesterday but i thought i would share it here also incase any of you missed it...

first, grab a chain that you don't really use anymore. i choose this gold one, but any kind will work.

next, tie a knot in your fabric {i used jersey but cotton broadcloth would work great too}.

twist the fabric and wrap it around using hot glue to secure it every so often.

lay your rosette on a flat surface, put a dab of glue on the back and lay your chain in the glue. you can add a little more hot glue on top if you'd like.

repeat this process with however many rosettes you want.

then, to add a little texture to my necklace i tied some tulle in a bunch like the above picture and hot glued it in a few different places.

it was pretty ugly from the back so i used an extra piece of fabric to cover it up.

simple and cute!!

hope you'll stop by sometime and visit!!

laura from along for the ride!!

Hi a little lovely readers! I'm Laura from along for the ride.

I am here today to show you how to make sweet little hair pins.

You will need 15 circles [I used a spool of thread as a template]. You can use however many colors of fabric you like.

Stack the circles and cut a notch out of the top one. It should look like a little heart.

Starting from the bottom of the stack, sew a few stitches to attach the circles together and a pearl in the center. You can use any kind of bead or button you want.

I found these bobby pins at hobby lobby. I like them because they have a round disc that makes it easy to attach to the flower. Use jewelry glue [or another heavy glue] to put it all together.

Super easy and super cute.

Feel free to stop over and say hi to a little lovely on my blog!!

select blinds

this is a pretty random post but i thought i would share with you all with the hopes that it will help someone out :)

i'm working on my entry way {i have been for months, lol} and i have a custom sized window i really needed some blinds for. i really wanted wood blinds for it but i had a hard time finding affordable ones. i ended up finding an online store called select blinds that sells custom sized, affordable, faux wood blinds. my intention is to order blinds for my entire house but i thought i would just buy for this one window, see how i like them, and then order more if necessary.

well, i love them! they look great, were easy to install, and best of all they were affordable!!
{maybe lots of you have already heard of them, but i was excited to find them.}

silhouettes

from here. the colors she used just make me smile. love love love

i soo need to do a silhouette project. i've been telling myself that for months and it's still on my to do list. i don't have photoshop and i feel like that would be the easiest way to do this. anyone have some suggestions for me since i am minus photoshop :)

pearl adorned paper blossoms

check out this adorable project at lemon tree creations! i actually used it for inspiration for this project. i was going through my bookmarks and had to share it because it is just soo cute!

csn stores

remember my guest bathroom reveal?! and remember how i said i wish i could change out the vanity sink for a pedestal sink?! well, now i'm rethinking that. i still want to change it out but maybe for a vanity like this...

or this

i need something open like these two options because the space in my guest bathroom is small. something open like this would help make the space feel a little bigger. oh how i love them! a little out of budget for me right now though...

however, i did come across this while searching through 200+ csn stores...

maybe i can add this to my vanity to add a little wow! factor

i'll keep you posted!!
