new dining room shelves

just a quick little update in my dinning room. i loved the before but needed to change things up a bit!! what do you guys think?!

i still have a lot of work to do with the accessorizing but for now this will have to work.

now, for a fun little tutorial...

C.R.A.F.T. does a simple, fun recipe every Friday for Fabulous Food Friday...

C.R.A.F.T. #24: Brownie in a Mug

so delicious. so easy.

You need:

a mug

2 tbs flour

4 tbs sugar

1 tbs cocoa

2 tbs. whisked egg (perfect amount!) (one large egg will make @ 3 mugs of brownies)

1 tbs. milk

2 tbs. softened butter

splash of vanilla

3 tbs. chocolate chips or candy bar

(Whip cream and/or vanilla ice cream make it super duper tasty!)

How To:

Mix all dry ingredients in mug

Add softened butter (NOT melted)
Add milk

Add egg last
Mix well

Microwave for about 1 min. and 30 seconds (depending on the your brownie consistency preference!)

don't you just love this dresser. i love the new look!! i can think of endless possibilities for it. but whatever it's purpose it looks good!!

organizer

love this!! adds a pop of color and organization all at the same time. i love finding new ways to organize my home while making it look pretty too. sometimes you can't hide all your mess :)

entry table

i just think this is absolutely lovely!! i'm pretty sure you're all sick of hearing me say it, but i still have not found an entry table yet. i've been looking on craigslist and found two, but neither one has worked out for various reasons. for now i'll just enjoy looking at beautiful ideas like this!

isn't this princess party hat just darling!! i absolutely love it. i think planning a party is soo fun and i love that this hat was handmade, makes it that much more special :)

ooo, these look so so yummy! cupcakes are so popular right now, but i love this fun twist on a traditional cupcake. why not fill it with even more yumminess?!

i absolutely love this idea. such a creative idea for those of us that don't already have fireplaces in our homes. and a great way to switch out decor really quick and easy for seasons/holidays.

i especially love this one because it was found on craigslist for a great price, painted and distressed to look absolutely stunning. great job!!

k, i need to make some of these. they are so darn cute! i think they would make a great baby shower gift. but as always i need some cute fabric...anyone have some good suggestions. maybe online?!

Hello all you Lovely readers! I'm Jax from Aly&Ash and I'm so excited to be guest posting here today! I'm a SAHM and part time photographer . My little guys name is Asher and he's 9 months! It's crazy how the time flys! I'm currently enjoying the cooler weather in my home town of Victoria, B.C. Canada but will be back to the AZ heat in a few weeks! (Let's pray I bring some of this delightful cool weather with me!)

kitchen window update

just a quick little update for my kitchen window. it only took me about 30 min but i love the new look. i really wanted something with pattern. it may look familiar... it's the same pattern as my reupholstered chair but opposite.

i have a couple more updates on my list for this part of the house that i spend so much time in, lol. i'll keep you updated of course!!

right now i am drooling over these rugs from csn for my dinning room!! if you follow my blog you know i l.o.v.e to use geometric patterns in my designs. i came across this line of rugs {jill rosenwald} and loved everyone of them. the first one is my all time favorite.

but i'm debating the practicality of a rug under my dining room table. we eat all our meals there so i'm not sure my pretty rug would stay pretty long?! lol

reupholstered chair

finally!!! i am so excited to share this project with you! it has been a long time coming but i love the outcome!! totally worth all the work and effort.

i got this chair at a yard sale a little while back. i loved the shape of it and knew it had potential. although i think everyone else at the yard thought i was crazy, haha :) they offered it to me for $5 but i paid $10 because it was a fundraiser. i figured i was still getting a great deal!!

halfway through ripping it apart. it took forever, but i learned a lot as i took it apart.

i added some support with materials i already had and added new padding/foam

i'm so happy to have this project done!! now i have to make a pillow for it and then onto another huge project!!
