side table makeover

just thought i'd share another lovely project linked up to my saturday soiree last week. doesn't it look great?! i love the number, even if it doesn't have significance, hehe!

a lovely lamp

ok, how amazing does this lamp look?!? i totally am in love with it! i seriously need to get the courage to do something bold like this, because it looks fabulous!! i always just go with white, black, gray, off-white, etc...

lately i have been crazy busy! seems like things have gotten even crazier now that summer has come to an end... here is a sneak peak into what i've been working on for a new client!! i'm super excited about this project. it's been a lot of fun to work on and hopefully they'll love it :)

i'm a big fan of using neutrals for large pieces of furniture and draperies. i love to change out my accessories and pillows often and using neutrals allows you to do that without breaking the bank. plus it makes the room look really clean, fresh, and calm!

nursery art

this lovely was linked to my saturday soiree last week {she was inspired by this and this} and i'm so glad it was! i headed straight to the craft store to get my supplies. i have a friend who is having a little boy so instead of butterflies i did whales.

i love it!!

lamp fabric

i've had multiple emails about the fabric i used for my lamp. i got it at joann's a few months ago. i checked online and couldn't find it for sale anywhere. i believe the company that makes it is home seasons and it's called paper damask. hope those of you who want it can find some at your local joann's. if anyone finds some online, let me know! thanks :)

lamp redo

here is the before picture of my lamp. i purchased it at a local goodwill store for about $6.99

first i took the shade off and covered the electrical part with a plastic bag and taped it down tight.

i also covered the cord at the bottom so it didn't get sprayed either.

then, i primed and spray painted a few coats of white.

while that dried i cut the beads off the lamp shade.

next i laid my fabric out upside down and rolled my lamp shade on the fabric while marking with a pencil about 1" above the top and bottom.

i cut my fabric out, wrapped it around my lamp shade, marked where the fabric came together, and sewed one straight simple line to make a 'slipcover'.

i then hot glued the extra 1" fabric on the top and bottom inside the lampshade and finished it off with some ribbon.

after the base dried i put the shade back on!!

isn't it just lovely now?!? i love love love the fabric. i'm wishing i would have gotten a lot more of it.

bbq chicken pizza

i was craving bbq pizza the other night but didn't want to buy out, so i made my own! i didn't have a recipe so i made it up as i went and it was sooo good! really simple and impossible to mess up!

ingredients

pizza crust

{i made my own but you could purchase some already made if you want to save time}

your favorite bbq sauce

pizza cheese

red onion

pre cooked chicken

-spread pizza crust evenly on pan

-cover with as much bbq sauce as you would like

-sprinkle on cheese

-top with onions and pre cooked chicken

i think i cooked mine on 350 for about 15 min. but like i said i made it up as i went along so keep an eye on it to make sure you don't overcook it.

painting stripes

remember my post about painting crisp lines? well this project was linked to my saturday soiree and i just thought i would quickly share it with you because i love the idea of different sized stripes. adds even more to the look.

a couple weeks ago my parents mentioned to me that they had my grandmother's very first dresser and they didn't need it anymore. i was so excited to get my hands on it. not only to refinish it but i'm so glad i have this piece of furniture to hopefully pass along to my children. it's in great shape and i love it!
